MEET OUR CREW
HERE ARE SOME OF THE WONDERFUL HUMANS THAT WILL LEAD YOU THROUGH YOUR STAY.
Creator of RYS and Instructor: Alex Muesenfechter
Alex is the owner and creator of Refocus Yo Self and Refocus YS Retreats. A former attorney, Alex started her wellness journey as a way to stay sane in law school with long distance running and as a yoga instructor. Long distance running turned into 70.3 ironman events and one full Ironman event, and she continued to teach group fitness classes at a boutique studio in KC and lead local group runs. Then the babies started coming. Alex returned to work as an attorney for a short period after baby no. 2 was born, but then opted to stay home and continue to teach group fitness. Alex has sprinkled in some time as a spin instructor but favors teaching yoga, barre, cardio and toning based classes. She loves incorporating aspects of yoga, toning and mediation into her classes.
As a mother of three young kids (4 and under at the time) when her oldest was diagnosed with leukemia, it took a lot of refocusing on herself and the habits in her life to get back on track after a very rough nine months. This process also came with the realization that it is not just cancer that makes it difficult to find the focus we need. So, “I decided to share what I learned and still am learning with other women - and men, as they need it just as much as we do! We are evolving beings, and I think it is so important to stop once in a while to refocus on what works and what doesn’t.”
Personal Chef: Jenny Levasseure
After years of training and working for various restaurants around the country to experience “[f]rom fresh farm to table, to contemporary asian influenced, pure Rocky mountain cuisine to a restaurant that did a play on every cuisine imaginable”; Jenny decided to start her own in-home chef business in 2016 to create a personal experience for her clients. As she puts it, “[c]ooking is exciting and creative and meant to be shared to the fullest!”
We are lucky to have her guide use through some amazing meals that we can all share with our families.

I am a professional Chef with 10 years for culinary background. I have worked in various kitchens all different in style, ethnicity, and technique. The reason being I love learning new ways to use Ingredients and different methods of cooking. I was born and raised in Los Angeles then moved to Arkansas where I fell in love with southern cooking. I have a Latin background and was classically French trained, I use these to my advantage for making unique flavors in fusion or just classic dishes. I love to cook and share my love of food. I use many of my mother and grandmother’s recipes that I hold close to my heart. I love to show people how to cook answer any questions to help understand or simply cook with clients to make unique memories.
Yoga & Meditation Instructor: Raeann La Flamme
As a college student, I turned to yoga to balance being a student-athlete and my studies. I quickly fell in love with the practice and realized it was something I wanted to share with others. With over 500 hours of training, I make it my mission to create a safe space for students to freely express themselves through movement and dialogue. My classes tend to be a mix of my favorite things: anatomy, mindfulness, and body awareness. By weaving in different yogic traditions, each class is unique to the group of students. It is my belief that the asana (posture) practice of yoga allows us to gain tools to be able to sit in a meditative seat. It is my goal to weave the movement practice with the seated practice.
